Steve Setka has been involved in the real estate and financing industry since 1979. He started his real estate career after graduating in 1979 with honors from Long Beach State University at Long Beach, CA with a degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Real Estate and Finance. His first position was with Transamerica Mortgage Company as a real estate loan officer from 1980 to 1985. He accepted a position as a branch manager with Western Bank Mortgage Company in 1985. When the company was sold to Victoria Mortgage Company in the early 1990’s, Steve continued with the new firm as a branch manager until he was promoted to the position of Regional Vice President in 1994. In 1995, Steve fulfilled his long-time dream by opening Buyer Team Realty, a real estate company devoted exclusively to home buyers. A year later, he established an affiliated mortgage division, Team Home Loans.
In 2006, after serving real estate clients for 11 years, Steve and his wife, Kathy, realized their dream of moving to Durango. Steve then formed Nationwide Real Estate Consultants, a company devoted to help real estate investors find lucrative markets and investments. Since 2006, he formed four partnerships which acquired over 5 million dollars in residential real estate investments primarily in Texas and in the Denver Metropolitan Area.
Steve has a long history of owning and operating small income properties.He was part owner and operator of four, five, and two unit properties for his family during the 1970’s and early 1980’s. He owned a five unit property in Long Beach during the mid 1980’s.
